Husky Robotics Invitational
HRI is an offseason FTC event at UConn. This event through the combined efforts of UConn FIRST, FTC Team 16008, and UConn College of Engineering's Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
About HRI
HRI is an off-season FTC Event modeled after the similar off-season competitions including the Chicago Robotics Invitational (CRI) and Maryland Tech Invitational (MTI). June 2023 was the first time UConn hosted HRI. HRI was also the first FIRST event hosted at UConn . We are excited help bridge the gap between the FIRST community and the UConn community.
Event Goals
Bring an off-season FTC event to Connecticut
Create a closer relationship between the FIRST Community and UConn
Highlight UConn's new Robotics Major and other University programs and organizations

Event Location
This event will be taking place in McHugh Hall on the UConn Storrs campus. We recommend parking in Lot 4 or A Lot as they are free on the weekends. If you would prefer to park in a garage, please park in North Garage, however garage parking is not free and is a 15 minute walk from the venue. See the UConn Parking website for more information about UConn Parking Garage rates. All recommended parking is within a 5-15 minute walk of the event venue.
Note: To navigate to any UConn Parking lots, just put the name of the lot into the navigation app of your choice. Please keep in mind that there is construction happening on UConn's campus that might cause road closures.Event Parking Map

2024
HRI grew to accommodate 5 more teams from the previous year. UConn ECE once again offered tours of two robotics labs. Congrats to alliance captain FTC 23248 and their teammates FTC 16021 and FTC 15668. Shoutout to our event finalists FTC Teams 23286, 18438, 18978.
